"I Will Survive"

The purpose of these pages will just be to express some of my thoughts on life and the things that are important to me. Among the most important things in my life are family (this includes any furbabies!), friends and a strong sense of moral values. These are my views and I hope I do not offend anyone by them. Life is full of ups and downs for all of us but I am a firm believer that it is not our circumstances that make us what we are but the way we handle them and treat others in the process whether they be human or furbaby.
I realize that in order to survive we have to make a living and earn money to support those we are responsible for. But there are many things in life to be sought after and valued far above those that money can buy. Without these priceless gifts, we can never be truly happy.....love(of family, friends and our fellowman), humility, honesty, friendship, dignity, character, faith, laughter, compassion.
There have been times in my life when I just thought I couldn't go on but deep down I would hold on to those survival instincts and take the things that were allowed to come my way and do the best I could with them. As a wise person once said--"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" And--"If it rains, play in the puddles!" Sometimes in life we just need to laugh at ourselves--after all even the Bible says laughter is the best medicine.
Young love, joyful times, sad times, divorce, the empty nest syndrome, disappointment with family and friends, loss of job, single mom, loss of precious family members including some dear furbabies, getting older.....and on and on. Yes, I have been there but it is at times like these that we also need to turn to a higher power. I believe in the Lord and believe there is a God that watches over us all and holds His hand upon our lives. And more often than not we rely on the loving support of true friends who seem to be there when the rest of the world turns its back.
I have found that no matter what befalls our lives in the end (and at times with great pondering!) life is always worth living.

My Human Family
Consists of a son and family who live here locally with me and a daughter who lives in Omaha, NE and was just recently married. Even tho Tina is so far away, we remain close. For many years I was a single mom when at times I seemed to be growing up myself. I have always considered the role of "mom" to be the most important in my life. I have a four year old granddaughter who is the sunshine of my life and I enjoy spending as much time with her as I can. Keeps me young!!

My Furbaby Family
Consists of three very active kitties. Their names are Zena, Scraps and Bonique. They are all rescues and you can visit them and ready their stories here. You can also meet my adoptees there.

Bo, My Forever Friend
This is me and my Rainbow Angel. Bo
was my best friend and soulmate for
almost 16 years.
Nothing has tested my survival
instincts more than when I lost Bo. I miss him a lot but Bo
will always remain a part of me and his legacy lives on in my heart and through
his site I have
created called "Reflections
of Bo." Visit Bo's site by clicking on our picture above.

Friends
Friends are the flowers of life, those who will listen to you babble on, someone you can share with, laugh with, cry with. Truly our joys are multiplied and our sorrows lessened by the presence and help of our friends. If in life you have one true friend you are fortunate. If you have many, you are truly blessed. Treasure your friendships, nurture them and guard them like a precious gem. Meet some of my friends on the following page.

Something we all need more of is tranquility and being
in touch with our selves.
Wonderfully done by a good friend. Please stop by and visit. Thanks, Terri
